"InterfaceFLOR works hard to make sure that our partnerships are credible, robust and effective. ClimateCare was the obvious choice when it came to delivering our Cool Carpet programme.
ClimateCare listened to our needs and worked around what we needed – rather than offering a pre-packaged product."
Ed Blamey, Sustainability Director.
In January 2005 InterfaceFLOR launched Cool Carpet™ in Europe. This product arose from InterfaceFLOR's growing concern with rising levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and is just one of the measures InterfaceFLOR is taking to tackle the problem of climate change.
Working with independent consultants, Interface has calculated the CO2 emissions from the lifecycle of its carpet tiles - these include the raw materials, manufacturing and transport, installation, maintenance (including hoovering) and final disposal.
Working with ClimateCare, InterfaceFLOR has funded a number of projects to offset these CO2 emissions. Examples include the use of low energy lighting in South Africa and the reforestation of Kibale National Park in Uganda.
So if you are refurbishing your office, make sure you ask your supplier for the Cool Carpet™ option.
